You will depart London and head southeast following the route of the ancient Roman Watling Street that connected London with the port of Dover and eventually Rome itself. You will turn towards the town of Seven Oaks nestling in the Weald of Kent, an area of outstanding natural beauty. From here you will travels towards the Toys Hill, where you can admire magnificent views over North Kent and the area you will be exploring over the next three days. Next you will move on towards the breath-taking Leeds Castle. This majestic castle is set in its own parkland and is one of the most elegant castles and former palaces in England. After a leisurely visit there you will explore deeper into rural Kent, stopping off at the traditional Kent village of Smarden with its narrow lanes, medieval church and wooden houses. Here you can sample some of the local ales of Kent in the beautiful 14th century coaching inn before traveling onwards to your base for the next two nights in the cathedral town of Canterbury.
