It all started about five years ago when a local businessman and food lover from Little India came on Chef Scott's Little Italy food tour. He was so impressed that he told us, "Chef, you need to do this in our area!" He invited chef to spend an afternoon in the "hood", and together they planned out a food tour that showcases the best of the best and takes us on a journey to Southeast Asia as we taste the Gerrard Indian Bazaar. It is one of the largest and oldest Indian markets in North America, and certainly one of the most colorful and tastiest neighborhoods in the city. Learn where to buy spices, how to pick the perfect mango, and maybe even peek into the restaurant's kitchen for a quick cooking demo! See how naan bread is cooked and taste it fresh from the tandoor oven. Eat Indian street food, dosa, and kabobs. Drink Indian Beer and mango lassi. Taste Modern Pakistani as well as the cuisine from the North, South, East, and West - the four corners of India. We will even have the best butter chicken in Toronto, which by the way, is not a traditional Indian dish but one that was concocted for the British when India was part of the British Empire.
